About

I find it very difficult to write about myself. What is there to say, after all ?
Having had quite a varied life, it would take pages and pages to go through the valleys and hills of my life. However, I reckon you don’t want to get bored to death right now, so you’ll have to buy the book later.

If you’re reading this, chances are I am residing in Antwerp, Belgium.

I’ve been doing graphic design for about 20-odd years now, and have been deeply entrenched in webdesign and interactive media since 1995. Before that I was a synthesist/composer, working with great minds like Morton Subotnick, John Cage, Andre Stordeur and Marvin Gaye. Recently I have picked up making music again, so I find myself back at what must have been that most creative and pleasant part of my life.
During my whole life I have taken photographs, and approached that art more or less seriously in ongoing waves. You can find some of my photos on my guyd2.com website. Inbetween all that I had some short stints in 3D-animation, video, typeface development, user-interface design for NeXT, and ehm, more stuff…

I’ve been using Apple computers since 1986. In 2005 I developed some Dashboard Widgets for Mac OS X : Oblique {Strategies} & SeeSS (a CSS reference), both of which have proved to be hugely popular worldwide. You can find more about my Widgets and download them here.

Sweet Cucumber is the weblog I started back in July 2004, when I first came to live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It was a very personal blog, but I tried to give a general idea as well about how it actually feels living in a foreign country as a barang.
