Dumpster grab bag.

Wish I had this, so I could learn a bit more about electronic DIY.

Paradigm for the kind of work I do.

Well, ehm, uh.

When kitsch transcends tackiness.

I just like the simplicity of this. And the colors.

Old, but classic one.

All Apple mice were/are bad.

Yea, that electronics kit… I remember seeing it too when I was a kid, but in those days, electronics didn’t interest me as much.
As for the Apple mice, I suspect that this is one of Jobs’ major pet peeves, so in this case design will always override functionality. A shame, really.
Why don’t you try the new aluminum keyboard for your PB ? It’s an amazing keyboard, and one of the best - if not the best - I ever used.

TBH I never really use the PB in a situation where an external keyboard would be a great help.
Best keyboard I ever used was my old ultra-ergonomic Cherry. All curved and hilly like those Microsoft ones, but it felt right whereas the MS ones don’t, split into two halves plus a numeric keypad on a separate cable, ultra-adjustable to suit your hand size and typing style. It was wonderful. Then I went and spilt a glass of wine over it, by which time Cherry no longer sold them.

Hi,
I had the exact same electronics kit as the one that is shown. It looks exactly the same but I can’t remember if it was 100 or 150 experiments. If my parents didn’t sell it on the flee-market, they would still have it in storage
I remember it was great fun: building radio, metronome, counter…

I think I used to have the top one when I was 8 or 9 - although actually I think mine was a cheaper one in the range, something like 30-in-1.
Love the kitsch!
And as for the meeces, well… yeah. I never understood why they couldn’t improve on this design (and I still spend far too much time hunting for the Ctrl key on my Powerbook).
