Standing Tall

25 January, 2008 (21:11) | architecture

A rather tall buildingWorld Architecture News presents the TOP 100 MOST VIEWED PROJECTS, a collection of some of the most amazing modern buildings in the world.

Not entirely surprising, most of these architectural artworks are of the high-rise kind, and many of the buildings serve a business- or hotel purpose, although a few private houses are presented as well.

Given my scary fear of heights, I prefer buildings as flat as a pancake. A ladder is as high as I will go - and then some… I lived on a 3rd floor in Phnom Penh, and I really didn’t dare to come close to my balcony’s edge.

Fortunately there’s also a flat house in this Top 100 Collection, and by coincidence (or not?), it’s also build in my favorite “60ties-postmodern-postbauhaus” style, so, yes, the Waterville Golf Resort Treehouse in Lijiang is my personal number one.
